Book structure: A three-panel accordion with a sixteen-page insert
Materials: RIVES lightweight paper, handmade Japanese paper, kimono silk scraps, red thread, decorative unryu, painted/printed printmaking paper, and “blue words.”
Acknowledgement: I would like to acknowledge artist Linney Wix in Albuquerque, New Mexico who gifted me with a “box of surprise” bookmaking materials during a 2022 artist book exchange organized by Laurel Moorhead and Jane Sprague. I constructed this book in a 90-minute live zoom book-making challenge in November 2022, guided by the “blue words,” feeling for their mood, color, tone, meaning, and movement.
