Reflections of Love: A Creative Journey Through Persian Art & Memories

A mindful collage workshop for seniors, guided by Shirin Aghdaie

In this gentle and inspiring two-hour workshop, seniors are invited to create meaningful collages that blend cherished personal photos with the rich beauty of Persian art. Led by artist Shirin Aghdaie, participants will explore delicate floral motifs, calligraphy, and poetic elements while reflecting on the people and moments that matter most.

Combining mindfulness, storytelling, and artistic expression, this session offers a calming space to honor memories, celebrate loved ones, and find joy in the creative process.

What You’ll Experience:

  • A welcoming space to reflect on a loved one through guided mindfulness

  • An introduction to Persian art, including traditional patterns and poetic forms

  • Time to gather inspiration, share stories, and connect with others

  • Hands-on collage-making using Persian-inspired designs, your own photos, and creative embellishments

  • Optional sharing and reflection as a group

No experience needed. All materials are provided. Participants are welcome to bring personal photos to include in their artwork.

About the Instructor:

Shirin Aghdaie is a Team Member of The Persain Place visual artist originally from Iran and a graduate of Tehran University of Art and Architecture. Her work, known for its vibrant use of color, mirrors, and depictions of women, has been exhibited internationally, including at the Mingei International Museum. With a passion for Persian artistic traditions and personal storytelling, Shirin brings warmth, creativity, and cultural insight to every class.

Join us for a beautiful and heartfelt afternoon of creativity, reflection, and connection.Join us for a peaceful and inspiring two-hour workshop where Persian calligraphy, poetry, and mindfulness come together in a unique cultural and creative experience. Guided by Dr. Yasaman Mostajeran, participants will explore the flowing beauty of Persian script and reflect on the poetic wisdom of Rumi, Hafez, and Saadi.

This workshop blends meditative writing exercises, guided breathwork, and group reflection, creating space for self-expression, emotional balance, and a deeper connection to Persian literary and artistic traditions.

All materials provided. No experience necessary.
